UNIKL CHESS OPEN 2008 (KULIM)

Open Chess Tournament

1. Swiss Format rules and regulations will be applied in this competition
2. In this chess competition, there will be 7 rounds all together.
3. Each player has 25 minutes
4. Movement must be made if the chessmen had been touched (touch-move) unless it is confirmed as an illegal move by the arbiter
5. Either the competitor is present or not the tournament will begin according to the stimulated time
6. Winner will be announced if check-mate or opponent runs out of time (flag –drop).
7. The overall position will be calculated based on the point collected over the 7 rounds
8. For each round, point will be given as follows:
Win – 1point, Draw– 1/2 point, Lose — 0 point
9. If the points are the same, the position will be calculated based on the tie break (solkolf , cumulative, burger)
10. Player will be disqualified from the championship if they miss any of the 7 rounds.

Human Chess Competition

1. Human chess is a variant of chess, often played at Renaissance Fairs, where people take on the roles of the various chess pieces (king, knight, bishop, etc.). This is typically done on an outdoor field, with the squares of the board marked out on the grass. Many Human Combat Chess Matches are choreographed stage shows performed by actors trained in stage combat. A move resulting in a piece being taken from the board will cause a choreographed fight to be played out to determine whether the piece is actually taken. Alternatively, the pieces may spar following rules similar to those used by the SCA.
